Abstract
The article describes the circumstances of the appearance in the system of education in Ukraine (mid 1940s) new type of schools – schools for industrial workers and rural youth. Based on the analysis of legislative and regulatory documents traced the transformation of this educational institutions in evening secondary school and analyzes the basic principles of functioning of evening schools in the second half of the twentieth century.
