Abstract
The problem of developing the key and subject readers competencies of pupils in the process of education Ukrainian literature has been touched. The concept of "general cultural competence" is specified in the system of school literary education, the didactic-methodical potential of the current schoolbook of Ukrainian literature for the pupils of 11th form ( standard level) (2019) is disclosed to concerning the development of general-cultural of pupil's competence.
