Abstract
The problem of studying the language of a work of art is considered. It is emphasized that the effective factor of development in pupil's ability to identify the lingua-stylistic specificity of the artistic work, the peculiarities of the individual style of its author is the didactic-methodical potential of the schoolbook of Ukrainian literature for the 11th form. The specifics of the disclosure of the author's intention by means of artistic expressiveness are outlined on the example of studying the educational theme "Literary avant-garde».
