Abstract

Military events in Ukraine, which have been going on for five year, influence significantly the emotional states of servicemen’s family members. Mass media and social network coverage of events form the active combat zone, information about unit losses or enemy actions contribute to additional emotional stress, anxiety for relatives who are in a battle. All these factors of emotional exhaustion together influence the servicemen’s desire to continue their military service under the contract. That is why the urgent question arises to develop approaches providing timely psychological assistance to the servicemen’s family members. The article analyses some developments that can serve as a basis for the further formation of a psychosocial support system for the servicemen’s family members. The article conclusion emphasizes that the group work with the servicemen’s wives helps to overcome barriers and to formulate personal psychological requests and helps to establish channels of communication between the family members and military units for timely psychological assistance.
