Abstract

The thesis considers the essence of the concepts of "vocabulary" and "lexical competence", outlines the specifics of the formation of lexical competence of schoolchildren in modern conditions, describes the peculiarities of the formation of lexical competence of students in the teaching of the Ukrainian language in institutions of general secondary education and the teaching of languages of national minorities.
