Abstract

The theses of the report, carried out in Kyiv April 3, 2014 at the plenary session of the XV-th international interdisciplinary scientific and practical conference "The Space of Art Therapy: Healing Resources" described the experience of two performances of the Kyiv Playback Theatre "Déjà vu plus" in the maelstrom the events of the Revolution of Dignity on the main stage of the Maydan Nezalezhnosti on January 6 and February 9, 2014. The main features of the conditions of these experimental performances are highlighted: strict time regulation, street openness and political coloring. Analyzed the possibility of adapting the Playback Theatre to such conditions, without losing its own identity and principles: minor transformations of the Playback ritual, the selection of short laconic forms, the emphasis on plastic expressive means of theatrical play (location, postures, gestures, facial expressions), collective feedback from the tellers etc. It has been established that in the case of a powerful audience already existing, the task of the Playback team is not in the very unity of the public, but primarily in recognizing the most relevant common themes and feelings for transforming them into a common narrative that promotes a certain kind of "cooling" reflection. The psychological response of exalted emotions at the same time works already at the stage of a public narrative, which made it possible to differentiate the catharsis mechanisms of the tellers in the Playback Theatre into impressive and expressive.
