Abstract

The article reveals peculiarities of the competent approach to language learning in a comprehensive school; the conditions for its realization during the study of syntax in the 9th grade are determined. The system of complex exercises from the complex sentence syntax is described, which is developed according to selected criteria and aims at forming a competent linguistic personality. Examples of exercises containing texts from the works of M. Stelmakh, tasks to them are presented.
