Abstract

The article substantiates the need for new approaches to monitoring and evaluating students' academic achievements. The important role of formative assessment is asserted, a component of which is self-control and self-assessment. The tasks of a test character of a closed and open form are presented, which became the basis for the series of notebooks “Formation of subject competences”, which included notebooks for independent work on the Russian language for grades 5–8.
