Abstract
The article highlights the topical issues of the formation of information and communication competence in the Ukrainian language lessons. The modern viewpoints of scientists about the identified problem are analyzed. The definition of information and communication competence is given; the components of information and communication competence and possibilities of their application in the process of studying the Ukrainian language are determined.
