Abstract

It has been discovered that the primary school in Europe is characterized by permanent transformations, which are the answer to the rapidly changing demands of the European societies. The complexity of the initial education mission at the present stage forms a multidimensional scenario of both structural and content changes. Perspectives for the further "Europeanization" of the Ukrainian primary school are the ideas of European countries regarding the intensification of the formation of the skills of reading, writing, and the formation of the concept of the integral content of education, which, besides the cognitive, includes the active and value components of the younger pupils.
