Abstract

The article is devoted to the issues of modernization of the educational system of Ukraine and the disclosure of the peculiarities of studying the Ukrainian language in institutions of general secondary education in the 2018/19 academic year. The attention is focused on the advantages and methodological value of the textbooks of the Ukrainian language created by the staff of the Department of Ukrainian Language and Literature at the Institute of Pedagogy of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. The content and structure of new curricula for grades 10-11 and new Ukrainian language textbooks for grade 10 (level of standard, profile level), which are being implemented in the 2018/19 academic year, are analyzed.
