Abstract
The article states and argues that the organization of the modern educational process should rely on cognitive science. Objects of cognitive science are perception, attention, imagination, memory, thinking. It is emphasized that cognitive psychology in conjunction with pedagogy is a new direction of scientific research. Important is critical thinking and its development.
