Abstract
In the article modern approaches to education have been investigated: competence, personality-oriented and activity-oriented ones. Author determined basic features and expediency of their comprehensive and systematical application at Ukrainian lessons. The features of realization of the mentioned approaches while learning the syntax of a complex sentence in grade nine have been found. The methodical conditions, methods and form of teaching to create innovative method are determined.
