Abstract

In the article, in retrospect, the development of the activity of the psychological service of the educational system of independent Ukraine is highlighted in the context of the implementation of the personality-oriented educational paradigm. As a result of the study, it was established that the proclamation of a person-centered educational policy in the country was implemented in the form of such initiatives as the creation of a psychological service in the school, and later in all educational institutions, as well as in increasing attention to the psychological and pedagogical training of future teachers and the retraining of practicing teachers and educators. The most significant achievement was the organization of the activity of an independent national institution - the Psychological Service of the educational system of Ukraine (1998). The activities of its employees in subsequent years contributed to the realization of an individualized, person-centered approach to students of all ages by means and technologies of practical psychology. The contribution of Professor V. Panok to the development of the service and the development of the theoretical and methodological foundations of its activities are defined. It is shown that the activities of the staff of the Ukrainian Psychological Service of the educational system contributed to the realization of an individualized, person-centered approach to the students, using practical psychology tools and technologies, as the service workers carried out diagnostics and examination of individual children or groups, correction of deviations in the psychophysical and intellectual development and behavior of students, rendered psychological and pedagogical assistance to young people in crisis situations. Practical psychologists also engaged in the prevention of abnormalities in the psychophysical development and the formation of personality and interpersonal relations; conflict prevention in the educational process; organization of activities for the prevention of crime, overcoming various forms of deviant behavior. The range of tasks also included designing the content and directions of individual development of students and drawing up life plans on this basis.
