Abstract
The article describes the programs that will be used to study the biology of primary and secondary school students in the 2018/2019 school year. The structure and content of the new educational subject "Biology and Ecology" in grades 10-11 at the level of standard and profile level are revealed. The characteristics of the educational theme in the 10th form are presented: "Introduction", "Biodiversity", "The metabolism and energy conversion", "Heredity and variability", "Reproduction and development" and the methodical guidelines in their study are indicated. The attention is paid to the peculiarities of the implementation of the competence approach in teaching biology of senior school students.
