Abstract
The article contains an analysis of scientific literature on the problem of post-traumatic stress disorder that occurs as a result of psycho-traumatic situations. The characteristics of trauma that can cause traumatic stress, stages of psychological reaction to injury are established. Also, there are identified risk factors for the development of post-traumatic stress disorder, the psychological mechanisms of the occurrence of PTSD, the main stages, groups of symptoms and the consequences for the personality of the child and adult. Also, the main directions of psychological and pedagogical work with children who suffered psychological trauma were determined.
