Abstract
The necessity of modernizing the content of the educational process in the circles of decorative and applied art of institutions of extracurricular education is substantiated. It is noted that the educational potential of decorative and applied art is contained in its very essence. Among other types of arts, decorative-and-utensils are unique in solving problems of both artistic and personal development, social and spiritual formation of the younger generation.
