Abstract

The article deals with the problems of content of textbooks in the educational process of Kyiv Gymnasium of Oriental Languages №1 as a method of developing the cultural-linguistic and moral, civil values of pupils. The author examines the definition of the concept of civic competence, civic values and tendencies of development of foreign language education in the theory and practice of the modern secondary school, which is a relevant and promising problem for the Ukrainian educational theory and practice.
