Abstract
The concept of "professional competence of a geography teacher" is defined, the relationship and interrelation of the given concept with the concept of "professional competence of a teacher" is considered. The structure of professional competence of a geography teacher is revealed and it’s components are substantiated: the key group, the subject group, the group of the interdisciplinary competencies.
