Abstract

The article presents a new approach to the organization of extracurricular work in high pedagogical school in the context of future special psychologists’ training. The problem of modernization and training of qualified specialists in the field of special psychology to work under the new conditions of the special education system is overviewed. Forms, methods and facilities, the basic stages of the extracurricular activities of higher educational establishments are disclosed. The attention is focused on the professional orientation of students-defectologists’ extracurricular work. The necessity of a balanced sequential of its transformation at different levels is substantiated. The basic directions of its perfection (reformation) are determined. It outlined the main trends in the development process of correctional education in general and for the Institute of Correctional Pedagogy and Psychology in particular. Disclosed prospects of extracurricular life in the training of contemporary psychology in the department of special psychology and medicine and in Institute of Correctional Pedagogy and Psychology of National Pedagogical Dragomanov University as a whole.
