Abstract

Abstract. The article raises the issue of standardization of categorical field of the issue related to competent teaching of Ukrainian language in secondary schools, and prevention of different meanings in key terms. Work expediency is substantiated and motivated by the need to clarify the issues of theory and practice of Ukrainian language teaching on the basis of competence approach. In particular, the author draws attention to the essence of the term «subject competence», justifies expediency of using it in singular form, convinces the falsity of attempts to allocate within one school subject several competencies, warns against unmotivated structuring of subject competence, which contradicts the essence of the key concept.
