Abstract
The article deals with development opportunities of the school textbook of the Ukrainian language. The author analyzes the functions of the modern educational book, highlights features of the innovation of the textbook "Ukrainian language" for the 10th form (standard level); attracts attention to the importance of the socio-cultural content of the current program and offers ways to fulfill its tasks. The originality of the represented competency-oriented educational book is also that it enables to build an individual educational trajectory for each student, promote the implementation of the teacher's creative plan, and adjust the work depending on the characteristics of each student and class. Personally oriented character of the textbook determines the principles of selection of material, methodical apparatus, its psychological field.
