Abstract

The article focuses on the theoretical aspect of аormation of national and cultural identity of senior teenagers. The author analyzes scientific works of philosophers, psychologists and educators devoted to the theme. As a result, senior teenage years are considered as the most sensitive in terms of moral education, internalization of values, formation of moral qualities, understanding of one’s life, development of the self-concept. Moreover,teenagers at this age determine their national and cultural identity as a condition for further development and self-development. National and cultural identity has become a prism through which many important aspects of modern life are studied. In particular, these aspects include the problems of the nation and national self-determination. Contemporary Ukrainian society has experienced a difficult period of creating a new value system that primarily has a great impact on the educational process and should be taken into account by all its participants.
