Abstract

The manual addresses the aesthetic and ethical basis of professional activity of teachers of visual art in higher educational institutions. It sets out peculiarities and origins of professional activity of teachers of visual arts and defines preconditions for its creative direction, presents the theoretical and methodological basis of teaching visual art in higher educational institutions, substantiates the essence of the phenomenon of "optimization" and examines the criteria of optimization of pedagogical process in general and the professional activity of teachers of visual art in modern higher educational institutions in particular, describes ways for the optimization of the professional activity of teachers of visual art in higher educational institutions. The appendices provide methodological development of tests, lectures, workshops and practical exercises, creative exercises, sample lesson plans, and the like. The manual is recommended for teachers in higher educational institutions of different accreditation levels, postgraduate students, doctoral students, teachers of visual art in secondary schools of different types, as well as all interested in problems of teaching visual art in schools of different levels and types.
