Abstract

The thesis for the degree of the Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences in Speciality 13.00.01 – The General Pedagogy and the History of Pedagogy. – The Institute of Pedagogy of the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine, Kyiv, 2017. The thesis presents a theoretical analysis of the problem of career education and guidance by Ukrainian and foreign scholars. Theoretical principles of career education and guidance of pupils in England are described; the development of the system of English career education and guidance is represented and the three periods are defined on the basis of criterion of quality changes in the organizations and content of career education and guidance within the chronological range; the role and place of career education and guidance in the system of education are defined, which is implemented in the form of the National and school curricula: forms and methods of career education and guidance are described; the comparative analysis of the development of career education and guidance in Ukraine and England is made; the recommendations of practical implementation in the area of career education and guidance in Ukraine are given on the basis of English experience of career education and guidance.
