Abstract
The elective course "Culture and Art of the Great Britain" will facilitate further development of foreign language communicative competence of high school students and is aimed at increasing their socio-cultural awareness. The course provides students with information about various cultural aspects of British life. The system of tasks is to foster development of their communicative skills. The suggested elective course is intended for students of high school (grades 10-11), methodology specialists,textbook authors, English language teachers as well as for students of language departments of higher educational institutions.
