Abstract
The article deals with elements of citizenship that should be educated in a family and kindergarten. The priority directions in the conditions of family education is to acquaintance children with national values by the fitting examples of famous Ukrainians from our past and present, example of parents’ attitude to family, nature, land, language and culture. The content of education in the kindergarten should be focused on formation the skills of socially accepted behavior, the ability to orient in the world of human relationships, willingness to empathize with others, to engage in the common socially valuable events with peers and adults, to respect the interests of others. The author offers some forms to educate elements of citizenship levels of senior preschoolers (classes productive activities, themed festivals, tours, ethnic and folk festivals, art workshops), as well as methods (reading stories, conversations, facilitated discussions, creative problem) that include the age-related peculiarities, children’s interests and needs.
