Abstract

The questions of formative evaluation in the process of teaching the Russian language in general education institutions of Ukraine are considered. The relationship between formative assessment and motivation for learning has been established. Self-assessments and mutual evaluations are considered as components of formative assessment. The problems that arise in the teachers in the process of using formative estimation are determined. The ways of solving these problems in the process of teaching the languages of national minorities on the basis of a competence approach are determined.
