Abstract

At an early age (the period from one to three years old) physical, mental and social development of a normal child and the child with psychophysical development is much more intense than in any other period of life. Mental development at an early age lays the foundation for further learning and social-communicative activities. That is why early rehabilitative care of disabled children becomes crucial for further development. The first three years of life is an important period for the child with impaired vision, because it needs to adjust to life without visual control, learn to know the world by means of damaged organs and saved sensations. This child will need help, support, and guidance from adults. The family plays an important role in intellectual and psychosocial development of children with impaired vision to establish its identity as the full development of abilities of the child at an early age based on physical and mental qualities is essential for the future development and integration in social life. The article deals with the features of the cognitive development of children with impaired vision early age, methods and techniques of developing environment, the use of special exercises and games to help parents in organizing developmental activities with children with visual impairments.
