Abstract

In recent years Ukraine has made significant steps towards the standardization of medical and educational assistance to children with organic lesion of the nervous system, including epilepsy. There is an active explanatory work in the media, implemented the program through which the public is beginning to realize that epilepsy - not a sentence. A child with epilepsy, like any other, has the right to training and education, deserves the support and understanding of others. The impetus for leaving the shadow of children with epilepsy were changes in legislation in terms of inclusive education. It introduced a new approach to the education of children with special needs, which focuses not on the disability that is in the child but on needs of child. This approach is based on an interdisciplinary basis, interdepartmental relations, which in this context means the coherence of experts from different fields - education, health and social protection in full support of children with epilepsy.
