Abstract

Theses for the degree of candidate of pedagogical sciences by specialty 13.00.02 – Theory and Methods of Instruction (Ukrainian literature). – Institute of Education of the NAPS Ukraine, Kyiv, 2012. The theses are devoted to the actual problem of the younger pupils’ group work on the text. The concept of ‘pupils’ group work’ is specified; the features of group work of the primary school children are cleared up; the methods of group work on the text in the lessons of literacy in the 1st form, in the reading lessons in the 2nd form are designed, theoretically grounded and experimentally tested. The essence of the developed method is to ensure its phased implementation: primary formation of the general educational collaboration skills of pupils, gradual coverage of more stages of work on the text. The model of cooperation of pupils of 1-2 forms and the task system for group work of pupils on the text are suggested; the criteria and levels of pupils’ skills to work in groups on the text are worked out. On the basis of the conducted research, it is shown that the systematic organization of the group work of pupils of 1-2 forms on the text affects positively the development of the general educational skills of pupils (organizational, general speech, control and evaluation), technique of reading and understanding of the text by the primary pupils.
