Abstract
This paper is devoted to the concept of modernization. Special attention is paid to the educational system modernization, in particular, the conceptual foundations of education modernization that described in the series of researchers' works are analyzed. The education modernization trends are identified. Particular attention is given to the definition of the ICT role in the educational system modernization.
