Abstract
Personal practices are defined as repeating, background and reformative ways of a life-designing. Cultural and individual contexts are considered as the actual personal environment which keeps and broadcasts practices. Conditionality of background practices by cultural contexts and the reformative practices by individual contexts is found out. Narrative (synthetic) and mentative (analytical) forms of existence the practices of life-building are considered. It is shown that reformative practices are used by the personality in a mentative form whereas background practices - in a narrative form. Possibilities of achievement by the personality of bigger integrity, stability, adaptability thanks to domination of narrative practices which promote immersion into standard and regulatory contexts are established. Specificity of domination the mentative practices when valuable and semantic contexts become significant, and the personality gains bigger openness, mobility and dialogicality is defined.
