Abstract

Background: One of the most critical objectives the modern ergonomics is facing today is the way of improving the psychophysiological state (PPS) of operators, which, if achieved, will help preventing and reducing their psychic and physical weariness caused by their activities. One of the promising methods to achieve it is to apply the laser-based acupuncture. Methods: Laser-based acupuncture, measurement of simple sensomotor reaction, mobility and lability of nerve processes, indices of cardiovascular system, self-rating, rheoencephalography, muscular efficiency. Results: The pronounced positive effect of laser-based acupuncture on the operators’ training process (vehicle simulator) was discovered. The changes in diagnostic indices that were registered point to improvement of the operators’ PPS. In particular, it was established that effect of laser-based acupuncture results in regulating influence produced on the operators’ cerebral blood flow, improves their static muscular endurance, increases their muscle strength and adjusts hand movement coordination. Conclusion: In future, we plan to set up a comprehensive automatic operators’ PPS evaluation and optimisation unit that will rely on both diagnostic and regulatory possibilities of the biologically active skin points.
